Taking on Asthma Site Features Mobile Care Chicago's Treatment of Children With Asthma

As part of BCBSIL’s ongoing efforts to combat childhood asthma, a new article on our “Taking on Asthma” website features a nonprofit in Chicago, Mobile Care Chicago, which serves children from low income families who otherwise might never be diagnosed with asthma or get the specialized care they need.

The vast majority of the children who get their asthma care from Mobile Care Chicago are children who would otherwise end up in the emergency department for care with every asthma attack.

The nonprofit is funded solely by donations, including support from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois through a partnership with the American Lung Association in Illinois.

The nonprofit’s mission is to be a free, full-service specialty provider of asthma care for children.
